Yo Nature is all about the environment of Mauritius. Imagine what Mark Twain had to say when he came here: Mauritius was made first, and then heaven; and that heaven was copied after Mauritius. The man was on a travel journey around the world when he made that remark, think about it!

Just like him, here, we believe that no place on Earth equals to the little paradise that Mauritius is. We have spent our lives on this island, explored the rugged mountains and dived in the jewel-blue waters. Mauritius is our home, sweet home.

Why Yo Nature?

Yo Nature is actually a short form of Your Nature, meaning it is YOUR nature. The sand. The beaches. The mountains. The forests. The birds. It’s all yours. And you have to take care of it. But to be honest, most people take nature for granted; to them, environment rhymes with trash bin. It’s sad to see little kids throw their crisps’ bags on the ground and annoying to see adults throw their papers out of car’s/buses’ windows. Obviously, we cannot reach everyone on the island to teach them EVS (or maybe manners), but Yo Nature can.

Who are we?

The Mauritius that Twain knew is quite a different one now, but we who are here can still make sure that the situation doesn’t get any worse. And there is only one way to do it: education. We want to share this very same passion with you. We know we can only give what we have and what we have will definitely change some people’s mindsets. All articles are written with a scientific background and references for further studies. Experts, with more than 10 years’ experience in the field, have contributed to the different categories. Some are research scientists while others are teachers in the fields. But above all, we are simply nature lovers!

We hope that you find what you are looking for here and that some of our passion rubs off on you!
